Face the Strange Band

Who are we?

Wow, starting with existential questions straight off the bat hey?

We are a professional band based out of West Yorkshire who pride themselves on giving high energy, diverse performances. We play styles from Rock, Pop, Blues, Funk, Jazz, folk, Prog etc. You name it, we play it. Tracy even raps

Tracy (singer) and Andy (guitarist) decided to start the band in 2018. Having both being seasoned veteran musicians playing in a huge variety of bands previous they wanted to bring their collective experience into something really special. After recruiting Ross on bass and a variety of drumming professionals, Face the Strange quickly became recognised as one of the most hard working bands on the circuit.

Tracy - Vocals

Tracy is the quintessential high energy performer. From her low sultry voice to her "Belt" notes up in the stratosphere, Tracy has it all.

Her vocal influences range from Billie Holiday, Debbie Harry, Ronnie James Dio, George Michael, Elvis, Bruce Dickinson, Jeff Lyne, Ella Fitzgerald, David Bowie etc. To name but a few, her musical range is as limitless as her vocal ability.

This is not even touching on Tracy's athletic prowess as she dances and bops through a 2 and a half hour set without getting out of breathe. We don't know how she does it.

Andy - Guitar

Andy's guitar journey started back in 1990 when he heard Pink Floyd play Comfortably Numb for the first time. He decided there and then that he must play guitar. What followed was much studying and lots and lots of gigging in a huge variety of bands. "I've played in so many bands from prog to jazz, Metal to Blues and have to say that Face the Strange is the best band I have ever worked with because I get to use all the styles and skills I've collected over the years such is the diversity of this band." He said.

Ross - Bass

The first half of our rhythm section is nimble bass playing enigma that is Ross.

Ross started out from a very metal background playing in numerous original bands all around the world. Luckily, we snagged him to play in our band and is now using his substantial skills to elevate every performance we do. Whether it's playing like Steve Harris or Bernard Edwards, Ross has it all.

He also collects classic cars. Ask him. He'll tell you.

Michele - Drums

The second half of the FtS rhythm section is Michele the Italian percussionist.

Michele is a prolific drummer who (there is a trend here) has played in a huge variety of bands. Known for his "in the pocket" grooves and lightning fast fills, there is no style of music he can't take on full steam ahead.

He doesn't like the limelight and just wants to be at the back grooving. So, naturally we try and give him drum solos all of the time.

Chloe - Drums

Chloe is our commander in drums who is our only choice for a dep percussionist.

Chloe is a remarkable drummer with an unrelenting energy that smashes through over 2 hours of musical craziness. Not only is she a prestigious drummer, she also has an amazing voice that harmonises with Tracy beautifully.

She also, on occasion, gives us drum sticks so we can hit her kit as well.
